On March 11, 2025, the National Chairman of the Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria – Young Pharmacists Group (PSN-YPG), Pharm. Tekena George, paid a courtesy visit to Pharm. Uche Apakama, the National Chairman of the PSN Board of Fellows and CEO of Pax Pharmaceuticals, in Anambra State. During the visit, the PSN-YPG leadership expressed profound gratitude to Pharm. Apakama for his unwavering support and continued commitment to the professional growth and development of Young Pharmacists. Key Focus Areas of Discussion ✔ Expanding Internship Opportunities: The PSN-YPG emphasized the need for increased internship placements across the South East region, engaging key stakeholders to create more opportunities for young professionals. ✔ Strengthening Mentorship and Capacity Building: Discussions highlighted the importance of structured mentorship programs and enhanced entrepreneurial pathways to empower Young Pharmacists in Anambra State and beyond. In line with PSN-YPG’s mission to drive youth empowerment and public health advocacy, a key outcome of the meeting was the endorsement of the Young Pharmacists Marathon Against Drug and Substance Abuse in Kano State. This initiative, aimed at raising awareness of drug abuse dangers, will receive support from the PSN Board of Fellows, marking a significant step in combating substance misuse. The PSN-YPG remains committed to forging strategic partnerships that foster professional growth and create impactful change for Young Pharmacists across Nigeria.
